KalaHockey Moves Forward With Field Lighting Project

Kalamunda Districts Hockey Club is moving forward with plans to increase the field lighting at their club rooms at Hartfield Park.

Currently we only have sufficient lighting to cover the training area, which amounts to only two teams being able to train under lights at the same time.

KalaHockey has established a partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) to raise the funds for this project.

The expansion of our lighting will enable us to increase training participation, especially during the winter months when it gets darker earlier. It also gives us the opportunity to explore mid week competitions during the summer.

Anyone that would like to donate towards our lighting project can do so by clicking here.

The ASF was founded by the Federal Government in 1986 and provides a way for sporting clubs to seek funding that allow donors to make tax deductible donations for values more than $2. You can read more about how it works by clicking here.

Notice of AGM and Proposed Changes to the Constitution

Kalamunda Districts Hockey Club will host its Annual General Meeting at the club rooms on Saturday 14th March starting at 5pm. All members are invited to attend.

We will be proposing some changes to the Constitution to be voted on at the AGM. A full list of the changes can be viewed by clicking here.

Pending the amendments passing, these changes will come into effect after this AGM

In summary, the changes are:

  • Introduction of Associate Member class of membership. This member type has voting rights and is intended for ex-players, family of current members and long-term social members.
  • Removal of voting rights of Social Members. This is to enable people that have no interest in hockey but would like to come down for a drink to join.
  • Explicit definition of when/how someone ceases to be a member
  • Definition of 1st March to the last day of February as our ‘membership year’. After that period your membership expires and you will need to register again and pay the renewal deposit
  • Only financial members will be allowed to vote at AGMs or SGMs
  • Number of other small tidy-up changes

The following positions will be vacated and eligible members can seek election in for the following positions:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Executive
  • Senior Registrar
  • Junior Registrar
  • Junior Coordinator
  • Men’s Representative
  • Women’s Representative
  • Vet’s Representative

Equipment for new club rooms

Now that we’ve been in our fantastic new club rooms for a while we’ve had some time to work out what we need to make them even better. We’re hoping that our members and community can help us in obtaining some of these items. If anybody has contacts or has some of this equipment they are willing to part with, we would appreciate you thinking of us.

This list will be updated periodically. It was last updated on the 23 September 2019.
